Having a roof above your head holds tremendous significance, especially when you have children. Therefore, it’s truly heartbreaking to turn away someone with the means to secure shelter. My name is Nacon Plaisir, over the past few months, this is what I’ve encountered daily while attempting to secure an apartment for my family.

“No eviction, no eviction, and no eviction” however, the puzzling part was that they never bothered to inquire about the circumstances behind the eviction on my record. I found myself among the ranks of good people who had experienced unfortunate situations. I firmly believed that, beneath it all, most landlords weren’t solely concerned with avoiding individuals with prior evictions. Instead, what they truly sought were responsible tenants who would maintain the property and pay their rent promptly.

Recognizing that avoiding those with evictions wasn’t their primary goal, I embarked on a mission to create Noviction. Noviction was born from the idea of helping landlords secure their rental income while simultaneously making it more accessible for individuals who had faced challenges, whether in the form of a rocky rental history or limited credit, to lease the home/apartment of their choosing, rather than settling for whatever they could be approved for.”
